Patriots and The Tale of an Unbeaten Team

New England Patriots are destined to be undefeated this season, but they have had some close calls. For one they should’ve lost the match of century to the Colts. Then a close call against Baltimore and a gift against Eagles allowed to stay undefeated. But I would be surprised if they manage to win the whole thing. Not because they are not the best team, but due to the team’s arrogance. Their head coach is simply one of the biggest jerks around, and the Patriots team has developed this sense of superiority that makes the players feel as though it is their right to win matches against everyone. I think these guys look awfully similar to San Diego Chargers of 2006. Though Patriots will be more difficult to overcome, another close game against the Colts and this time they may actually lose. I guess the bigger questions is why do the Patriots like to be the villain of the story?

Is Hatton Over-Rated?

For all the talk that was in the media that Hatton was going to beat Floyd Mayweather, the fight ended in an anticlimactic fashion. Mayweather dominated Hatton in almost every round and then knocked him out to easily win the title. Boy these guys are  pros in making giants out of  ordinary fighters. The only legend that I saw in the ring was Floyd even though deep down I wanted Hatton to knock that arrogant boy down. But Hatton was outclassed, outhit, and outboxed. Too bad. Hatton could retire now knowing that he wasn’t good enough and in fact was protected by the fights the picked in the past. Oscar gave Floyd a much tougher fight!

What Do Patriots and Mavericks Have In Common?

Well, it might be early to say now, but Patriots look awfully similar to Dallas Mavericks of last year to me. Sure, they are beating teams, but it seems somehow someway they are running out of steam. I still think they will go undefeated in the regular season, but I do expect them to struggle to win the whole thing. There is just something about their game that doesn’t quite give me the indication that they are going to go all the way. But we shall see…

Wimbledon 2007 Draw Is Out. Nadal Gets Lucky Again.

Wimbledon 2007 Tennis Championship’s draw is out and for the second year coming Nadal gets an easy path through to the Final. Nadal has avoided Blake, Roddick, and so many other big names in his draw whereas Federer gets to play Safin and Gonzo or Blake before his quarter is done. Then there is Andy Roddick waiting for him in the semis. Of course, if Roddick and Federer reach the semis, there is little chance that Nadal will win Wimbledon 07, but still he has got a very good draw, except his first round match with Mardy Fish. If he survives Fish, which he probably will, he will have an easy path to the final which is similar to what happened last year when he had Agassi in his quarter. What do you think? Is Nadal the luckiest Tennis player in the world or is ATP drawing process rigged?

Spurs To Sweep? Does Anyone Care?

The NBA Finals this year has been quite dissapointing after San Antonio Spurs were gifted a victory over the Phoenix Suns to get to this point. The only team that could have had a good match up with Spurs was the Heat, and they were swept by Chicago in the very first round. Now we have the Spurs, who by the way were supposed to be burned by the referees in the Playoffs, and the Cavs who are simply not good enough to be in the finals. This series has simply been the worst I can remember at least in the past 15 years. James versus all the Spurs? For sure Lebron can’t beat the Spurs by himself. So why even play?

Supermen Come Crashing Down

Roger Federer and Lebron James had something else in common, that is beside their dominating of their respective sports. Federer and James both lost yesterday, and they lost their hope of achieving their ultimate dream this year. Of course, Lebron still has a very slight chance of getting to his dream, but I do not believe any sane person would pick the Cavs to beat the Spurs four out of the next five games. Cavs are done. So is Roger and his Grandslam dream. He lost for the third straight year to Nadal, Michael and Pistons anyone? But all is not bad. On the bright side, we will have the same excitement about both of these guys for one more year.

Federer, Nadal On the Collision Course.

Roger Bear and Bull Rafa are on the collision course at the Roland Garros (French Open). The second Tennis Grandslam of the tournament is usually the least respected by the Americans, but Europeans are as hungry as ever to add it to their collection. Federer has 10 Grandslams and winning Roland Garros 07 will help him get a step closer to Pete Sampras’ overall 14 Grandslams record. But, Federer will not beat Nadal this year and maybe not even next year. Nadal is just too good on clay and never loses best of 5 matches. Of course, there are many who believe otherwise.
