George W. Bush put an Oscar worthy performance last night when he declared with a straight face that the surge in Iraq is working. Deep down in his heart he knows his Iraq project is destined for failure, and to be honest there is nothing he or any democrat can do to save America’s graces in that region of the world. Perhaps the best decision is to put more pressure on Iraq by withdrawing troops, not all of them though as Mr. Edwards stated in his message to the American people. I remember when I came to America, this was the land of opportunity and prosperity. It seems those days are long gone as the nation is struggling on multiple fronts. Health care, Education, and lack of innovation are just some of many problems that the U.S. will have to face in the upcoming decades. It’s truly saddening that instead of dealing with real issues, America has made itself sandwiched in a civil war.
