Barry Bonds’ journey to become the home-run king in baseball ended last night when he homered for the 756 time in his career. He probably even managed to surprise Mr. Obama as he wasn’t sure when Bonds would get there during the presidential debate in Chicago. Bonds is widely thought to have cheated his way to the record, but he gets to celebrate for a while. I do however expect him to be pressed hard in the upcoming months to come out clean, not that he will. Personally, I do not rate the home run record as highly as Pete Sampras’ 14 Grand Slam record or Jack’s 18 major Golf record. Nevertheless, 755 was an impressive number. Bonds may even be lucky enough to get past 800, but that story is for another day.
