The Dresden Files To Be Closed by Sci-Fi?

Dresden Files Canceled

Unfortunately, as days go by, it is the most likely scenario that Dresden Files is going to be closed just after one season. The first season was full of promise and the series was easily one of the best series on TV period. However, Sci-Fi has decided that rubbish programming such as WWE’s ECW is more valuable than the Dresden Files. I understand the TV business where ratings are everything. However, just like what happened with Jericho, I believe Dresden Files is a victim of a mistake. There is no way that this series was not performing good enough to beat the ghost finder series on SCI-FI. Too bad the Dresden Files the Complete First Season which was released a couple of weeks ago is now the complete series.

Is Your Gmail Really Safe?

Many of my friends swear by Gmail, and use it everyday for their email communications. However, using your e-mail service on public HotSpot could turn out to be a bad idea. Your private information can be vulnerable when using your Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail account on these public spots. Linux Activist has a good piece on how to protect your Gmail against wandering eyes. Next time you are using a public Wi-Fi spot, think twice before surfing without protecting yourself first.

Ghost Whisperer-2nd Season Complete Coming Soon!

Ghost Whisperer-2nd Season Complete

Ghost Whisperer-2nd Season Complete

Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) communicates with earthbound spirits, ghosts who cling to the living because they have unfinished business that prevents them from moving beyond the familiar plane of existence that we call life. Inspired in part by the work of famed medium James Van Praagh and of Mary Ann Winkowski, a real-life communicator with spirits, Ghost Whisperer explores the spiritual side of life and death as Melinda navigates among the dead and the living in her sometimes chilling, sometimes heart-rending and sometimes amusing attempts to act as an intermediary between the ghosts and those they haunt. Jim (David Conrad), her husband, worries about the emotional toll this work is taking on his wife as they embark on a new life together. Andrea, her friend and business partner in their antique store, is fascinated by Melinda’s talent. Melinda is somewhat reluctant to reveal her gift to new friend Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim), a single mom who lives in Grandview, fearing the consequences of drawing her into this unconventional world. For her part, Melinda accepts her unique abilities as a blessing and sometime a curse, but always helps her clients–alive or dead–find emotional closure.Includes all 22 episodes from The Complete Second Season of Ghost Whisperer!

Barry Bonds’ Fiasco Ends!

Barry Bonds’ journey to become the home-run king in baseball ended last night when he homered for the 756 time in his career. He probably even managed to surprise Mr. Obama as he wasn’t sure when Bonds would get there during the presidential debate in Chicago. Bonds is widely thought to have cheated his way to the record, but he gets to celebrate for a while. I do however expect him to be pressed hard in the upcoming months to come out clean, not that he will. Personally, I do not rate the home run record as highly as Pete Sampras’ 14 Grand Slam record or Jack’s 18 major Golf record. Nevertheless, 755 was an impressive number. Bonds may even be lucky enough to get past 800, but that story is for another day.

SunRocket VoIP Customer? What to do?

If you are a SunRocket customer, and you still haven’t decided what to do, you have a couple of options. You can either sign up for another voice over IP company or go with one of those bundle deals from Comcast, Verizon, or better yet EarthLink. If you still prefer to sign up for a voice-over-ip company, here are your options:

1. Vonage: Vonage is the No. 1 pure Voice over IP provider in the nation. However, it seems it is close to bankruptcy after legal troubles with Verizon.

2. Teleblend: A SunRocket Wanna’be that you definitely shouldn’t trust. They just started a couple of weeks ago.

3. Packet 8: Packet 8 is a respectable voice/video over IP company. It’s prices are close to what SunRocket used to offer, but your existing gizmo is not compatible with this service.

4. ViaTalk: ViaTalk VoIP Phone service is the only VoIP service that its offer comes close to that of SunRocket. ViaTalk gives you two phone lines + a bunch of other features for $199 a year. While they are not as big as SunRocket was, they have been in business for a while. They are associated with HostRocket Inc, which does help a little.

5. VoIP.com: VoIP.com is another VoIP company that you may want to consider now that SunRocket has set. VoIP.com has similar plans to abov providers, but they give you unlimited calls for $19.99 a month whereas Vonage gives you that for $24. They also have received good reviews from numerous sources, so you may want to give these guys a shot.
