The U.S. Open: Agassi Stumbles Through, Ljubicic Falls

The U.S. Open started today, and Andre Agassi won his first match in his 21st U.S. Open Grand Slam Tournament. Agassi was almighty close to losing to Andre Pavel, and a couple of points here and there could have sealed his fate. Agassi needed 4 sets, 3 tie breaks, to beat the fiesty Andre Pavel to advance to the second round where will face the mighty Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus. The upset of tournament was the loss of Ivan Ljubicic, the third seed, to Lopez of Spain. Andy Roddick, Robredo, and Richard Gasquet also advanced to the second round.
